Today I will talk about one of my favorite activities to do in my free
time, taking photos. I love it because I can show my particular vision of
someone or something and express it in an image. It´s kind of addictive, I´m
constantly taking photos, although I don’t have a camera at the moment (I'm always taking imaginary pics with my eyes). Right know
I took pictures with my phone, it has a good resolution and I´m always with it,
so I´m full of pictures –not selfies- of the topics that interested me right now: the city, the colours, the nature and the
composition of it. I
started taking photos since very young, and my parents were an incentive to
develop this passion; my mom taught me how to use her analog camera and my
father teach me about colour and light. In conclution, of course I do
more things than just take pictures, but I think it is one of the most love.

My best Vacations
Hello GeoBloger!!
What a nice day to write about something really distant for me at this moment… holidays.
I would like to write about my best holiday ever. This 2016 summer, I went with my friend to the south of Chile backpacking for one month, we’ve always traveled together and this year couldn’t be the exception.
It was a looong trip -therefore we saw lot’s of places- but I want to tell u about one place in specific. This spot is a beautiful lake called Risopatrón, near the Queulat National Park, in Aysén region.
A truck left us on the road
really close to the lake. We started walking between giant Nalcas towards the
lake… and there it was, a beautiful quiet lagoon surrounded by native forest. The
most beautiful episode I’ve seen was one afternoon, I was walking on the shores
of the lake, and suddenly many birds began to play each other and with the water.
Risopatron was a kind of milestone in the trip, maybe because we started to feel the real connection with the place and nature, enjoying the company and starting the adventure. That’s why this vacation was my favorite one…at least for now.
See you next post!

Hello girls and boys...what a lovely morning, isn't it??
I will tell u about something new for me, the Otaku world.
I just read a fanzine made by students of the university called U-taku Zone. If you don't know about hthe anime and manga culture, U should learned and enjoy about this, there is a lot of tips (like places in Santiago that teach japanse) and beautiful illustrations made by the students.
One of the articles talk about a gamer bar, called Insert Coin. I had heard about it cause I have a few friends that played a Smash Bros 64 tournament in that place, but I had no idea that anyone could go and drink or eat something.
I am surprised and fascinated that this kind of activities can be realized, reflecting the passion of all of the people who participate on this magazine.
Tell me what you think about otaku culture, or if u have read some manga or saw an anime (I started Evangelion last week)
Bye bye, here I copy the link of the fanzine http://plataforma.uchile.cl/01/2016/08/30/translations-and-betrayals-manga-and-anime-from-the-graphic-novel-to-the-audio-visual

My Dear Friend
Hello Bloggerssss
Today I will wrote about something, or better said, someone really important to me. His name is Andreas and he is one of my best friends. I have really special and unique friends, I really feel the support of them in my life, so today I will tell u a little bit about the friendship with this unusual personality.
I met him for the fisrt time in school when I was in 5th grade, we were in the same group of friends, but we get really really closer in high school, I remind whole afternoon in his house teaching me how to do magic tricks with the cards, or talking about science (or how to save the world with our inventions) In the last two years of school we had (and still having) very similar tastes in the musician that we heard, Spinetta, Tool and Pink Floyd were the soundtrack of that years hahah.
Andreas Krumpoeck -alias the viking- is one of the better hearth that I have ever met, we are really different in a lot of aspects, but we are always in contact talking about life and science, like the old time. That's one of the important part of our friendship, we were always listening and learning about the other one...now he's studying mechanical engineering, so he teach me a looot about interesting thinks about crazy math stuffs. Dredius if u are reading this... hello and love to you, see you in a few days!

The Spot
Hi guys... how are u? this weekend I spent all the morning in a place that it's very special for me in Santiago, El Persa... so I would like to express myself about all I like of this unique spot.
I don't remember when I come for the first time, but since I was a child my mother come with me and my sister along this neverending market located in Franklin. I still maintain the tradition of going with her to buy furniture or some "cachureos" and if u have luck, find some treasure.
I feel an atraction for this place cause I can feel the beat of the city, the movement, and the manifestation of the garbage, the junk -toilets of all kind of sizes, plastic flowers, jewelry, vinils, tools and whatever u can imagine- put it like a piece of art, reminding u the cycle of the materials. The people putting all this kind of pieces in the middle of the street and screaming the slow prices it’s part part of the morning travel.
If u go to the oldest "galpones" or ex-factories, you could talk with seller with fascinating stories, real antique collectors that knows the history of eachs of it's objects. I really hope that this popular tradition would maintained it over time.
Primitive Dialogues in Modern Times
I try constantly to improve
myself in art matters, cause I think there is a lot of artist around us, maybe
ourselves who still don't realize that we have something to express, and the
words aren't enough.
Since I was a kid I really like art, in all its forms of expression -theater, sculpture, literature, music and a long etc.- It´s took me a loong time decided which artist I preffer, of course I don't have A favorite one, so I will choose one of the long (eternal) list of masters.

I will talk about a new yorker
artists that was an inspiration a lot of people ...its name was Jean Michel Basquiat.
Borned on December 22 in Brooklyn, 1960,
Basquiat was one of the precursor of the graffitti movement in NY in the late
70's, under the tag name of SAMO, he
attracted the attention in the downtown art scene. With a Puerto Rican mother and a Haitian-American father, their roots where always representative on his art.
He
cautivate important elite artist. He contributed with different ones,
including the famous pop art painter Andy Warhol. As his populatity, their personal problems and the abuse of drugs get increasing. In August of 1988 Jean Michel died of a drug
overdose at the age of 27 years old.
I found this impresive artist searching on the internet about the history of graffitti. I love the work of Basquiat cause it remind me the primitive manifestation of art, mixted with the power and the bomb of information that it's the city. If u see some of his painting u could see his blowminding -almost literaly- The contracts of strong colours put together to throw up a search... or maybe an answer to all the chaos.

My favorite Subject
How are u Geo-readers?
Hope ur fine, cause i will wrote today about something u love... STUDY (jejej)
Have u realized that when u like some subject it's easier take the notebooks and started reading? I think we are loosing the sense of study to learn something new and interesting, maybe cause we don't really questioning what we want and love do.
It's not easy decided which subject I prefer, I really like cultural geography (my humanistic face) but I think since I have Geology, in my firt semester, I learned something that previously I had no idea. The teacher - Rodrigo Rauld- It's really enthusiastic and with a lot of energy to teach something he really love. Besides we had two field trips, one of them (and the first one) to Cajón del Maipo. It's was beautiful cause was the first time that I started seeing the landscapes with another eyes : understanding their processes and morphology. On the other hand, since I have memory I collected rocks... so now I could understand which kind of rock I have.

┣▇▇▇═─ Televisi-ON
Hello readers
Today i will talk about one of my favorite program ever: KaBlam! I still remember the happiness when I founding it on tv . Last week I search the episodes on intenet, and i realized that now i could see what a bizarre kind of show it is.. and I really love it.
This program was transmitted by Nickelodeon until the 2000 -I was 5 years old- so my memories was not very
clear (I had to make the sacrifice to see a couple of chapters)
KaBlam was an animated sketch comedy hosted by Henry and
June, two cool kids who lived inside a comic book. They introduced a
variety of short segments, and my favorite one, it's called "Action League". The show it's about a group of
superheroes -played by real action figures-
fighting crime in the dumbest way with a really weird humor.
Starring by
The Flesh: He's super
strong and super naked.
Thunder Girl: Flies like thunder.
Stinky Diver: A former naval commando with an attitude as
bad as his odor.
Meltman: With the power to... melt!
![]() |
| My favorite one is Stinky Diver... it's ironic cause he fears the water |
I like this program cause reflects the kid's imagination, with real toys in their respective conditions after all the adventures (Meltman suffers the worst impacts). Besides, KaBlam it's aimed both children and adults, where the imagination is the land of adventure.
U could find some episodes on Youtube (DO IT!, and waste your time jejej)
And you..Tell me what's your favorite tv show when u where a child!
Hey Oh! Let's GO ✯ ✈

I really recommend take a look to the work
of the mexican photographer Graciela Iturbide
|
If u could take a plane and travel the place you want, what would it be? Difficult question, isn't it? Instantly it's come to my mind one country... Mexico
The attraction to this country began when i was ten years old and I found a book of paintings and the life of Frida Kahlo. The colours, animals, fruits and thematics of her paintings show me something hitherto unknown. Since then, the mexican culture began to be a cause of admiration.Rather than the landscapes and rich native culture they has, I feel a fascination for their way of being, their traditions and of course, all kind of art manifestation.
One of the celebrations that catches my attention is the Day of the Dead the 31th October, On this holiday the whole country is involved in this cult to death. The women wear tradicional Catrina (or women skeleton) costume, which consists in an elegant dress and her face painted like a skull. There's also a long night of festivity, in conmemoration of all the loved ones who passed away. With spicy traditional food, and diferent kinds of altars decorated with candles and the typical peckered paper -considereted a mexican folk art- this celebration reflects the syncretism between ancient national traditions and catolic religion.
I know that some day I will fulfill this dream!! So for the moment I will travel through the pictures and painting.

I want to ride my bicycle I want to ride my bike ➳
Hello cyberfriends!!!
A long time without writting, but I'm back and with a looot of energy cause today i will talk about an autdoor activity. It was a little bit difficult make a decision of which to choose, but I finally decided to tell u the love story with my bicycle.
Once upon a time there was a little Cayetana at the age of 7-8 years old (I supposed) I don't remember the age that I learned to ride, The only certainty that I have is was the patience of my fathercause since I was a child it was not an easy job teach me something ...especially if the learning is based on falls. Since then I started to used my bike as a mean of transport and It's so goood! not only you could avoid taking the subway or the bus -It is not a minor advantage- you also can do something that help u for your health, It´s really good way to let your mind blow and the transportation could stops being a problem, indeed, becomes in your own medicine for your body and soul.
Currently, there's a lot of people in Santiago that are using this clean transport, nevertheless, the city hasn't managed very well the way to generate a network of bike paths that allows mobilize throughout the capital. This added to the problem of the vehicles that -in some cases - don't have the respect to the rider and of the atittude of some cyclist that doesn't follow the norms doesn't contribute to achieve good coexistence. I really hope that some day we could move around the city in armony... and that depends on each one of us.

My bike is now in the garage fixing, and I already miss it! So, if u want to do sport or u don't want to spend more money in the subway anymore... please get into a bike and you will see the changes. Be careful... It's an adicction

Backpacking to Cochamó Valley ♒
This summer my traveling partner, Sofía, and I decided to go to the south of Chile. It was a looOng trip, and our final stop was this magic valley called Cochamó. To get there we woke up super early in the morning so we could start trekking
INTERESTING FACTS there's no vehicle access and it was one of the muddiest trails I have ever seen! Well after a 4 hour walk we finally reached the base camp called La Junta.
INTERESTING FACTS there's no vehicle access and it was one of the muddiest trails I have ever seen! Well after a 4 hour walk we finally reached the base camp called La Junta.
I still can't believe the view of the granite mountains, the turquoise water, and the giant trees. We could smell the fragance of blossom Ulmos in the entire camp! Cochamó is one of the most important places to climb in Chile, so u can imagine... it was full of climbers from differents places of the world, too our luck, two friends were also staying in the same camping, so they showed us a lot of unknown spots.
If u like the adventure and want to live an excellent experience... then you MUST go to Cochamó .
Here it is a video I made in the top of Raimbow Mountain (you could see some argentine mountains)

Hey Zombie! it´s Time to Dance ♪ ♫
I always try to share and learn new groups and types of music, this song is one of my treasures of life and this is the story when i listen it for the fist time:
I was in the car with my dad returning home after a party when i was like 15 years old. My dad is always listening music, so this was not the exception. The radio started playing a song. Suddenly, almost by inertia, we were moving the head and drumming with our hands feeling the music. After that magical -12 minutes- moment we payed attention to the locutor to known who had played that wonderful song. The name of this excellent artist is Fela Kuti, right know he is one of my favorite musician.
He was the pioneer of a music genre, the Afrobeat (kind of mixture between jazz, funk and african native music) Kuti fought all his life for the right of african people, in fact, he started singing in english so his lyrics could be understood by all the Africa continent in the decade of the 70´. The name of this song, one of the most popular of his career, is a metaphor of the nigerian police, the violence and corruption that was lived at that time in his country.
I really recommend the full album that has the same name that the song: Zombie. Hope you enjoy this crazy-moving song, dance and feel the Afrobeat through your veins !!!
••• Who Am I? •••
Hello Geofriends and whoever came to my comfortable blog. I will start introducing myself, my name is Cayetana... yes, it´s my real name. I am twenty years old, my favorite fruit is tuna (the fruit, not the fish ajaja) so know u can call me "Cabeza de Tuna" -maybe its easier than my name-
I live in Santiago, Pirque to be precise... i think that maybe living in this place was the reason why I decided to study Geography. I really love traveling and knowing different places, taking pictures, the cactus and plants, dance with the music - I love the art in all its expressions- and biking to go wherever i want, for free!
Right know I am trying to overcome my addiction to peanut butter ...but is not easy at all if u have a huge bottle of it (i had never tried it before) sooo i will continue writing about me, but u will have to wait for me until i have my sweet inspiration again jajaj..
